In The Club: Up front.

Something sweet, singing and Swedish is bound for Manila in a few days! Nope, it’s not ABBA, nor is it Ace of Base. (Holy crap! Did I just write a song?)

We’re quite sure you’ve heard of this news already; the two blessed souls of the Swedish indie pop tandem Club 8 are coming to the islands. Yay!

Johan Angergård and Karolina Komstedt are singing—nay—letting you sing with them their classic pop ditties from 1996’s Nouvelle up to The People’s Record in SMX Convention Center come May 14th.

With songs like Missing you, Love in December and Heaven,  we can only guess how crazy the crowd can get when they all erupt in unison with the duo and their band as they all go to the chorus of each song. Truth be told, we Your Imaginary Friends are very excited to see them perform live.

But what gets us more excited is the fact that we are going to perform live on the same stage as Club 8. In fact, just the thought of playing our songs in front of all these people in SMX is reason enough for us to pass out before the rest of the world becomes May 14th. But we promise we will give a good show.

Right now, we can only guess how excited The Gentle Isolation can be. These true-to-form beings from Bulacan have written and played the most pleasant, most fun Filipino indie pop songs ever. Their sound can surely segue in smoothly with that of Club 8. Doubtless. Doubtlessly seamless.

Who’s the other band fronting? It’s The Camerawalls. Please, I can only name zilch that can top the energy and gusto of this indie folk-pop act when it comes to performance. What, need I mention how good their songs come? All songs worth every penny of your defeat, Beiber.

We are pretty sure it’s going to be fun and memorable, and Your Imaginary Friends honestly can’t wait. Not everyone can be given this rare chance to share the stage with one of the most influential acts of this century, so, props to Lilystars Records for bringing them here to our shores and letting us go big time before primetime.

 Here’s to Sweden’s finest.
