She’s All Sirens (And I am Fiction)

(lyrics by Ahmad Tanji/music by Ahmad Tanji and Khalid Tanji)

I will let this foolishness be just this once
for there’s a trace of hope receding on the glow of the street lights.
oh, familiar things!
tug or pull?
can I demand a more painless war?
disarmingly personal, you are you are you are…

your face leans forward, arching your back
a suggestion I find hard to wrap with indifference
I plead in semantics;
“oh baby, this heart’s a romantic but…
hopeful enough to be suffocated by your lips…so let me…”

A tender resignation and all these mis-phrased emotions to repress
you said “kill the truth before it takes us casualty, and please care less…”

this exchange never happened
the space between us won’t deflate again

she’s all sirens and I am fiction
she’s all sirens and I am fiction

  1. Such a tragically beautiful song :)

I hope more people start seeing the light in “Imaginary things/people”

Go Emerald!!! Can’t wait for the full album ;)

  2. Heavy lyrics amongst the songs in the album, this must win a literary award. :)

Musically, I love the long vamps on both intro end outro of the song, it set the mood.

Plus, the quoted lines are really good.

I think I have a vision off this song, I would sketch… now.
